35th A.U.C (Reserve Officer Cadets) SMA COURSE
Aosta,
April – August 1964

- Episode 2 (years 2004-2005) -

The moral reward for this first accomplishment caused a change in the modes of the initiative which from a “One-off payment”  became a permanent initiative. As a result another € 14,020 were raised which turned out essential to the building of an operating room at the hospital of Kitanga.

Following the building of the operating room the hospital was meant to be upgraded from 3rd level to 4th level, which was to imply substantial funding from the Uganda Government for maintenance costs and wages for one doctor and two nurses.

At present the Government seems to be avoiding commitment, but sooner or later is expected to honor it. The area covered by the project includes over 70,000 people, most of whom are children.
